In the Optimizer, our main search functionality, the emissions for ar route were always always based on the fuel type being 'unknown'. We assumed a generic average for the region where the leg takes place.

Starting today, we will use the actual fuel type (if known) to calculate the emission values, thus rewarding operators that use more sustainable fuel. For example, rail connections with electric traction.

We will also show the fuel type in the details page of the Optimizer search results (see screenshot).

We’ve recently upgraded our routing algorithm to make your results even more accurate and relevant. With smarter handling of direct vs. indirect options, better recognition of operator partnerships, and improved logic around sea and inland transport, you’ll now see cleaner routes with fewer unnecessary transfers. Oh, and things just got a bit faster too. 🚀

June has been a busy month so far, with several mall updates to improve your experience!

• In the Date picker it is now easier to change dates after your initial selection.
• You can now see your current plan/subscription in the Optimizer, as well as in your account settings.
• The number of unique service combinations in your results are now shown. Each route has a number of unique combinations of modalities and terminals, and the total count is now displayed above your results.
• We fixed a map zoom issue on the details page
• On the details page the breadcrumbs (the green link that displays your searched Origin to Destination), now actually leads you back to your results instead of to whichever page you visited before.
   

Welcome in the new home page within the app! If you have an account in routescanner this will be your welcome at Routescanner from now on. Here, we can spread the news on added features and operators in our tools and listed the events that we are attending in the upcomig period. Furthermore, you are capabale of starting your search from here like you are used to!

You can now choose a specific date range for your desired departure

• If no dates are selected, the Optimizer will automatically search within the upcoming 3 weeks
• The minimum departure range you can select is 3 days
• The maximum is 31 days

You can now define fuel types for barges within Trade Lanes and the Emission API. This enhancement allows for more detailed and accurate emission calculations, while staying aligned with GLEC standards. Check out our API documentation (connect API documentation) to explore how fuel type specification can also be applied to other transport modes in your emission calculations.

Optimizer now optimized for smaller screens — including mobile!

• Results are now grouped by default to offer a broader variety of route options
• Filters are displayed at the top for quick access
• Want more filter options? Just click "All filters" to open the full sidebar
• The details page has also been updated to match the new design
  

Carrier alliances have been updated and are now shown on the details page in the Optimizer.
If a service is part of an alliance, you'll see which other carriers offer the same service, along with the departure and arrival times they report to us.
