Product update - Direct Connections is back on Routescanner, completely rebuilt

Find out which ports, terminals, regions and countries are connected by direct service, who operates them, what the lead time is and their estimated CO₂ emissions.

Start with the network, not the booking
Most route searches start with a fixed origin and destination. But network questions often start earlier: where can I go directly from Rotterdam? Which operators serve my hinterland terminal? What connects Hamburg and Antwerp to Asia? Direct Connections is built for exactly those questions.

Search from, to or both
Select one or more origins, one or more destinations, or leave one side open. Routescanner shows every direct service that connects them, on a list and on the map. Filter to narrow it down.

Every service, with CO₂ included
Each connection shows the operator, route, modality, transit time and weekly frequency, and now the estimated CO₂e per TEU. Sea, short sea, rail and barge are shown together, so you compare the options side by side instead of mode by mode.

Compare ports side by side
Selected multiple origins or destinations? Port Comparison shows how they differ in origins, destinations and port pairs. Zoom in on a country, port or terminal to see which operators serve it, with lead time, CO₂e and frequency. A quick way to benchmark gateways, spot alternatives and back up your routing decisions with data.

From insight to route
Found the connection you need? Continue to Door-to-Door Search for the full route details, from pickup to delivery. You don't need to enter anything again.

Who it's for
→ Shippers and forwarders looking for direct alternatives on their lanes.
→ Ports and terminals reviewing their direct connectivity and comparing it with other ports.
→ Sustainability teams comparing the CO₂ impact of routing options.

How access works
Direct Connections runs on general Routescanner searches. Free accounts get a limited amount, usable across Door-to-Door Search and Direct Connections. Paid plans use the same searches, just more of them based on the subscription plan.
